Austin's Totem Pole

For my public art piece, I decided to make a totem pole of some of Austin's historical ladmarks and buildings. Totem poles are usually made to recount legends or historical events. I chose to take the historical aspect and place the structures and landmarks I thought were most important to Austin.
The totem pole would be made out of wood, and each landmark would be carved out. At the top I chose to put the Texas Capitol since it's the most important of all the four landmarks. At the bottom, I put Austin City Hall since it is a sort of base for the city. In between I put the UT clock tower, and the Philosopher's rock.

Location:
I chose to place the totem pole somewhere along the Lady Bird Bike Trail. There are many people who are riding their bikes and jogging, so the piece would get a lot of exposure, and people would learn more about the city and it's landmarks.
