My art is being displayed in an alley-way behind my apartment complex. Using different colors of fluorescent computer paper, I constructed a tree that stands about eight feet tall and stuck it behind a house.
I walk through this alley on a daily basis and am consistently stripped of my sense of security when I see a stranger or hear an unfamiliar noise. My longing for a feeling of safety soon sparked an idea, which then resulted in my end product:
The interaction between the neon tree and the beaten down wood work does a lot for me. Not only do the colors complement each other, the preceding messages now co-exist with the hopeful tree.
