The purpose for this project was to document or interpret through any source of art the effect humans are having on planet earth. Especially human’s everyday necessities are damaging earth’s purity. This loss of pureness is interpreted by the water in the project. Each water bag has a greater amount of food coloring which creates a denser color. This meaning that the clarity of ocean waters has been damaged through time. The banner beneath it shows the name of the work of art. The message was spray painted over carved letters. I took a big piece of rope and tied it to the branches of a tree. Then I hung the water bags in their density order.
I chose these elements of water and pureness because I’m a scuba diver. And what differs a good dive from a crappy dive is the clarity of the water and the amount of fish you find in a spot. Through this sport I create a connection and bundle with nature. If humans keep on utilizing the water like we are doing now, scuba diving will be a sport of the past.
