My urban intervention was first inspired in my home country, Brazil. As you may know, the Amazon Forest there is being constantly devastated and trees are being cut down to make paper or to build new cities. However, I realized that this situation does not happen only in Brazil, it can be applied to other countries that suffer with the population growth as well, including the US. So my project was to make flyers with a crying tree drawn on them symbolizing the damage that we are making to the environment and giving it to people as a form of awareness. It also had a strong sentence from the Bible, which I thought would be a good choice, since I was distributing the flyers at Saint Edward's University, a Catholic college.
So, "hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the environment."
Bible
