Mas Moss!

For our project location, we chose the tree between the St. Edward's pond and the RCC. The environment is an interesting contrast between the serene patch of grass around the tree and the hustle and bustle of the campus and roads surrounding it. The patch is also teeming with wildlife, including birds, frogs, and the crickets they live by eating.

For our work, we used dried bamboo and dead moss. The materials create contrast between the piece and the environment. While the vegetation and wildlife are very naturally dispersed, the bamboo breaks up the scenery with its straight form and the angles it creates. The materials are also dead, while surrounded by life. They create a strange balance between the natural vegetation in the foreground and the man-made skyline in the background.
