"If a tree falls in a forest, does it make a sound?"
As we were walking through the nature trails across the street from St. Edward's, we stumbled upon several different baby trees that were being planted as part of a forestation project. Around the trails, several small stumps were the only things left to remember the trees that once stood there. In honor of those fallen trees and the very cliche question asked above, we decided to reconstruct a tree! On the side of one of the trails, we took a large chunk of a fallen trunk and laid it down where everyone could see it. Then, we walked around the woods and collected various leaves and branches to complete our tree. Believe us, it was harder than it looks! By doing this project, we hoped to show the viewer that even if a tree has fallen, it can still have a place in the landscape around it. This project was pretty fun to create, and it gave us the opportunity to explore the woods around our school!
